The delicate lace-like openings in these hoops are created by twisting and hammering two strands of metal. With their light elegance and hand-forged charm, they are perfect for everyday wear.
This pair combines sterling silver and 14k recycled gold. The gold alloy is stronger than silver, and puts up more resistance to the force of the hammer. In the resulting twist, the silver squiggles and meanders while the gold keeps to a narrower path. Rather than trying to counteract the metals’ properties by making a more symmetrical twist, I keep these deviations in the final product, as a reminder of the beauty to be found by celebrating the inherent characteristics of materials.
Sold as a pair. Secured with sterling silver posts and butterfly closures.
